Monisha Baldawa is an award winning editor and a DMCS alumni.

Her work includes feature Films like Margarita with a straw, Neerja and Firaaq. Neerja won her a Filmfare award for Best Editing in 2017. Documentaries and Short Films crafted by her include Chutney, Bidesia in Bambai and Dhoosar.

She is an alumnus of Film and Television Institute of India specialized in Film Editing. She started her Filmmaking journey during her time in DMCS.

Prantik Deshmukh

 

Prantik Deshmukh is a visual storyteller. He switches his medium very often, sometimes it is the camera in the hand or at times it is the brush/pencil.

He has directed and photographed numerous short films and documentaries, which have fetched him various awards and recognition and National and International Film Festivals.

He did his graduation in Visual Communication from University of Bangalore and M.Sc. in Media and Communicaiton Studies with specialization in 'Video Production' from Savitribai Phule Pune University. He has also studied an intensive 'Videography Course' at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

 Opening Film

DMCS’s Video Production student Prantik Vivek Deshmukh’s final Semester Marathi short film ‘Matitali Kusti’ won the award for Best Film (Non-Fiction) at Filmfare Awards 2017.

One of India’s oldest Martial Art form Kusti (traditional form of wrestling) is considered to be the dying sport in India today. The young pehlwans (wrestlers) are turning away from the Talim and instead preferring wrestling on mat due to the international status it has received in the recent past.

This film showcases the struggle of the modern day traditional pehlwans and their battle against the Freestyle wrestling of the modern times in their struggle for keeping this ancient martial art form alive.

Mahesh Aney

 

Mahesh Aney is a National award winning cinematographer (Swades).

He is renowned for his work on TV shows like Movers & Shakers and thousands of commercials including some award-winning films for Pepsi, Tata Steel and Fevikwik.

He is an alumnus of Film and Television Institute of India specialized in cinematography and also runs his production house.

Dr. Kunda Pramila Nilkanth

 

Dr. Kunda Pramila Nilkanth is a Director, Script writer and Photographer. Her education comprises a Ph.D. in Documentary Films and degrees in Films & Video Production, Cinematography Diploma in Mass Communication, Public Relations & Journalism.

She is a teacher at Mumbai University and has authored and edited several books.

She is also a Social worker, stage actor and active organising member in the Mumbai Theatre world.

Sharad Ponkshe

 

Sharad Ponkshe is a senior Film, TV and stage actor and an eminent personality in the Marathi entertainment world.

He has excelled in plays like Varun Sagale Sarkhe and Mee Nathuram Ghodse Boltoy and films like Hey Ram, Black Friday, Tukaram and Mokla Shwas.

He is highly appreciated for his TV roles in Ase hey kanyadaan, Vaadalvaat, Agnihotra, Uncha majha zoka and Durva.

Umesh Kulkarni

 

Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni is an Award Winning Writer, Director and Producer.

He won National Awards for Deool, Girni and Three of us. He directed Films like Highway, Vihir and Valu. His short films Gaarud and Vilay got wide acclaim and won many national and international awards.

He started his filmmaking career as an assistant director with noted filmmakers Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar.

His education comprises Diploma in direction from Film and Television Institute of India and he studied in The Summer University Course in LA Femis, Paris (Film School in France).
