Dr. Ajit Gagare is an Assistant Professor at Department of Media and Communication Studies. He completed his Master's in Communication Studies with a specialization in Media Research from the same department. A recipient of the UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Mr. Gagare furthered his academic pursuits with a bilateral doctoral exchange fellowship at the University of Tübingen, Germany. His doctoral thesis, "Ideological Analysis of Reality Television Shows on Hindi General Entertainment Channels," illuminated the embedded ideologies in popular reality TV. With diverse consultancy experiences and research projects supported by institutions like UGC-DAAD, Dr. Gagare mentors’ doctoral candidates, supervises research, and has guided over 70 master's theses. His teaching spans Research for Film Studies, Media Audiences, Indian Cinema, and Media Economics, employing innovative methods. Research interests include television studies, media audiences, and reality TV, evident in numerous publications. Actively contributing to the department's growth, Dr. Gagare serves as the coordinator for the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the Alumni and Placement Cell.
