Students at DMCS are guided by faculty that come from a various fields of study, research, media and social science praxis. We are a team of seven full time and 10+ visiting faculties who constantly endeavor to help students understand theoretical and practical aspects of the various subjects. We ensure that the students are provided with relevant resources, access to learning tools, on-field exposure and constant inputs from industry stalwarts.
Ex-Dean of FTII (Film and Television Institute of India, Pune) Mr. Nakhate has several years of experience in the field of Theatre, Television and Film production. He teaches different subjects related to Video Production.
Former Director of Space Application Center, ISRO, Ahmedabad. Ex-Chairman, Press Trust of India (PTI). Dr. Chitnis teaches ‘Development Communication’ and ‘Introduction to Media Technology.’
Dr. Shrikant Paranjape is a Professor at the Department of Defense and Strategic Studies, Savitribai Phule Pune University. He was a Fulbright Fellow (Post-Doctoral Research) at the George Washington University, Washington D.C. and a visiting professor at Colorado College, Colorado Springs. He teaches Political Communication at DMCS.
After serving in senior leadership positions at prestigious MNC's like Mercedes Benz, Rolex, Omega, British Airways, Kimberly- Clark for three decades abroad, Ms. Maitrayee De relocated to India to teach. She teaches Advertising and Marketing Research and Brand Management at DMCS. Her core competencies include Brand Strategy Planning & Implementation and Cross-cultural Advertising.

Shyama Dutta has over 20 years of professional experience in Branding and Strategy planning in Marketing Communication, across audio-visual and digital platforms. She has also spent over 5 years in Training and Training Solutions and teaches Media Management at DMCS.
Anil Zankar teaches 'History of Indian Cinema' for the IFS course. He has 35 years of experience in film making, teaching and writing. An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, he is recipient of two national awards, for a film script and for a book on cinema. He has made 21 short films on social issues and institutions, bio-pics and corporate themes. He has attended seminars on international cinema, has presented papers at international conferences.
Omkar is an alumni of the department and teaches Cinematography and Multi-Camera Techniques. He also holds a 3-Year Cinematography degree from KR Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts, Kottayam, Kerala. Omkar has been an integral part of 50+ award-winning shorts (fiction) like The Broken Window (2015), Haakey (2015), Mariam (2017), Prakriya (2018), and 10+ short documentaries like Trimit (2015), which he directed, and The Land by the Sea (2019).

Suvarna Patil has lots of achievements in the field of Corporate Communication to her credit. She was a Senior Executive at HSBC, looking after Public Relations and Communications. She has also worked with Kanbay. She contributes to the teaching of Corporate Communication and Digital PR at DMCS.
Ms. Gayatri teaches Instructional Design and has a spanning 20+ years of experience in Instructional Communication and Media, eLearning and ILT Content Design & Development (15 years). She is a professional Instructional Designer and is successfully Providing Learning/Training Solutions, .Designing and Developing Learning/Training Content Building for multinational companies.
Aparna Subramanian is a Fulbright-Nehru Masters Fellow and Graduate of the Moving Image Archiving and Preservation program from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. She is also the recipient of various grants and scholarships focused on audiovisual and film preservation. She developed curricula for film archiving and curating of the PG Diploma in Indian film studies program. She holds an MSc degree from DMCS with Media Research specialization. She holds a PG Certificate from the Film and Television Institute of India, specializing in sound recording, and BSc in electronics from Fergusson College.
Satyen is the administrative backbone of DMCS. Whether it is timetables, internal activities, information or documentation, he manages it all like a one man army.
Satish looks after the routine administration in the office, from permissions for project shoots to official marathi correspondence.
Vishal manages transport for DMCS. He also helps with the day to day administrative functions at the department.
Nitin manages the housekeeping and office-related duties of the department and makes sure all the faculty and students have a comfortable time here.
Ashwini looks after the DMCS library. Wheather you are searching for a book or a film or a research paper, Ashwini is the one to reach out for.
